RAPPLER is a social news network that inspires community and digitally fueling actions for social changes. It is enabled by the new technologies and always connected to the social media.
They went to our school, Far Eastern University to discuss some issues and give students some informations about them and what they are capable to do. Rappler and students had a seminar at FEU’s auditorium. They also expanded our ideas about social media for the social changes.
What I’ve learned in this seminar? A lot. A lot of things came into my mind after the seminar. I’ve realized that everything in this world is already changing. It has advantages and disadvantages at the same time. The traditional media is dying slowly while the modern media is rising fast and eating down the old media. What will happen if the traditional media is already forgotten by many?
I also learned that social media is a very important and powerful tool for everyone. I learned that everyone should be careful and be responsible in using social media because when you used it irresponsibly, in just a snap.. a worst judgments and bad opinions will mislead you. You should take good care of it.
This seminar will help me in my ICT class because I already know how to handle and understand social media to social changes. I already know how to protect and use social media responsibly. So, in that way.. I could also do the same good way in my ICT class because “Social Media is a powerful tool and it draws collective intelligence” and by sharing what we have learned will help others to understand and convince them to do the good thing.
